I have a magazine whose name is I LOVE ENGLISH ; it is very easy to read and for to learn
You get to know USA and its history, about cowboy boots, hamburgers...
.
COWBOY BOOTS.In 1870,a cowboy wanted boots with a pointed toe so that he could get his feet into the stirrup more easily.. Cowboy boot are worn today by cowboys and they exist in all the colours.

COFFE
Americans prefer coffe to tea.In 1773 American colonists rebelled against a British tax on tea.Since then Americans haven't liked tea very much.

CADILLAC
The first cadillac was made in 1902.It is a typical American car ,it is very big,since the 1970s oil crisis cadillacs have got smaller.They have appeared in many American films and songs.


AMERICAN FOOTBALL
This is America's favourite sport.It is a collision sport so players have to wear special equipment.Like in rugby the players can run with the ball in their hands.American call normal football ·soccer".

HAMBURGER
Americans love hamburgers,but spicy Tex-Mex food is very popular too.The name Tex-Mex is a mixture of Texas and Mexico.

Washington Irving, a remarkable America writer.
Washington Irving was born in 1783 in New York-He studied law but in 1802 he started to write stories and essays and he spent most of his life writing.The Legend of Sleepy Hollow first appeared in 1820 and it's Irving's most popular book.
He travelled to many places in Europe and for some time he was the Ambassador to Spain and lived for several years in Madrid.
In 1846 he returned to the USA and lived in Tarry Town,not far from New York.He was the first great American writer of humorous stories but he also wrote books about the countries he visited.He also wrote a book about the life of his namesake.President George Washington. He died in 1859 and is buried in the cementery of Sleepy Hollow, the place that lends its name to his famous story.
